Omega Pistons manufacture and supply several kinds of piston, the two most common being forged pistons - for high performance applications and cast pistons - used in classic car and motorbike racing.
The image on the left shows a cast piston with the ribs inside (left) and a forged piston (right).
Forged pistons vary in complexity from a basic pot type piston, (shown above, centre), through a standard slipper, to a high performance bridged slipper type design. (Both shown in the right hand picture above).
This ultra lightweight piston provides the optimum balance between strength and weight required in the harsh environments of Formula 1 and MotoGP.
